1Introduction
RentGoX ("we", "us", "our") operates the RentGoX Android mobile application (the "App"), a rental property listing platform connecting Property Owners and Rent Seekers across India. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you use the App. By installing, registering on, or using the App, you consent to the data practices described in this Policy.
2Data We Collect
We collect only the data necessary to operate the App's core features. Depending on whether you use the App as a Property Owner or a Rent Seeker, this includes:

3Google Sign-In (Property Owners)
Property Owners register and sign in to the App using Google Sign-In. When you sign in, Google shares your basic profile information — name, email address, and profile picture — with the App, strictly for the purpose of creating and authenticating your RentGoX account. We do not access your Gmail inbox, Google Drive, Google contacts, or any other Google service beyond the basic profile details required for authentication. Authentication and session handling for Google Sign-In are managed through Firebase Authentication.
4Mobile Number & OTP (Rent Seekers)
Rent Seekers register using their mobile number. We send a one-time password (OTP) to verify ownership of the number before account creation. Your mobile number is used to authenticate your account, identify you within the App, and, where you choose to contact a Property Owner, may be shared with that Property Owner to facilitate communication about the property. Mobile number verification is handled through Firebase Authentication.
5Location Permission
The App requests access to your device's location permission to help you discover rental properties near your current location. Location access is used only to power the "nearby properties" discovery feature within the App and is not collected in the background when the App is not in use. You may deny or revoke location permission at any time through your device's Android system settings; doing so may limit the App's ability to show properties near you, but will not otherwise prevent you from using the App.
6Uploaded Property Photos
Property Owners can upload photographs of their properties as part of a Listing. These images are uploaded directly from your device through the App and stored using Cloudflare R2 object storage. Uploaded photographs are displayed publicly within the App to Rent Seekers browsing Listings. Please do not upload photographs containing identifiable people, sensitive documents, or content unrelated to the property being listed.
7Payment Information
Payments for Premium Membership are processed through the PhonePe Payment Gateway. RentGoX does not collect, view, or store your card numbers, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials — these are entered directly into PhonePe's own secure payment interface and governed by PhonePe's privacy and security practices. RentGoX only receives and stores the transaction reference ID, payment status (success/failure), and amount, which are used to activate your Premium Membership and to maintain records for accounting and dispute resolution.
8Firebase, Supabase & Cloudflare R2
To operate the App reliably and securely, RentGoX relies on the following trusted infrastructure providers, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:
- Firebase Authentication (Google) — used to manage Google Sign-In for Property Owners and mobile number/OTP verification for Rent Seekers.
- Supabase — used as our database and storage backend to securely store account records, Listing details, and application data.
- Cloudflare R2 — used to store and deliver property photographs uploaded by Property Owners.
9How We Use Your Data
- To create, authenticate, and maintain your RentGoX account.
- To display and manage property Listings created by Property Owners.
- To help Rent Seekers discover properties near their location.
- To facilitate contact between Rent Seekers and Property Owners regarding a Listing.
- To process Premium Membership payments and activate the corresponding benefits.
- To maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the App.
- To communicate important updates, transaction confirmations, or policy changes.
- To comply with applicable Indian legal and regulatory requirements.
11Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication through Firebase, access-controlled database policies within Supabase, and restricted-access object storage through Cloudflare R2. Payment data is handled entirely within PhonePe's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12Data Retention
We retain your account and Listing data for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution obligations. Property photographs and Listing details are retained until you delete the Listing or your account. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
13Your Rights
As a User, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Withdraw location permission at any time through your device settings.
- Withdraw consent to data processing, subject to the App's ability to continue providing services to you.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 16. We will respond within a reasonable time in accordance with applicable Indian data protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, where applicable.
14Children's Privacy
The App is intended for use only by individuals aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will take steps to promptly delete such data.
15Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data practices, App features, or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted within the App or on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
